After more than a decade of no new music, The Saddest Landscape announced some exciting news on Wednesday.

The screamo alternative indie band's new record label, Iodine Recordings, announced via Instagram that The Saddest Landscape will be releasing their first album in 11 years, Alone with Heaven, on April 24. A second single, "From Home They Run," is out now on all streaming platforms. In addition, exclusive merchandise such as shirts, different vinyl variants and posters are available for pre-order.

This release marks the first project The Sadness Landscape has released since their 2015 album, Darkness Forgives. Recorded with Steve Albini and Jack Shirley, Alone with Heaven will include 16 new tracks and features from boygenius' Julien Baker, Jeremy Bolm of Touché Amoré and Evan Weiss.

The Sadness Landscape was formed by Aaron Neigher, Jeremiah Bertz, Si Choi and Andy Maddox in Boston in 2002. So far, they released five studio albums, with their debut EP Cover Your Heart and the LP The Sound of the Spectacle a year later.

Over the past 23 years, the group has gone through multiple lineup changes. Maddox is the only member who has been there since its formation, while current members Andy Farrell, Daniel Danger and Moe Watson all joined between 2013 and 2021.

Back in November 2025, the American band announced that they signed with Iodine Recordings after leaving their previous label, Topshelf Records, and then revealed a new song titled "Hexes," while teasing an upcoming album.

"The Saddest Landscape have been perfecting their balance of frantic hardcore and cathartic vulnerability for over 20 years and return with a double LP on Iodine Recordings in 2026," the band wrote in a statement on Instagram. "Their first new music in a decade, the full-length dives fearlessly into themes of survival, grief, the ache that follows, and the fragile hope that keeps us pushing through the dark. These songs exist in the place where the things not said aloud dwell, where memory turns to ash, where love outlives the wreckage. One of the most enduring voices in modern post-hardcore, The Saddest Landscape have returned after a decade, making sure we’re still alive."

"Hexes" and "From Home They Run" are out now on all streaming platforms. The rest of the album, Alone with Heaven, will be out on April 24. Fans can pre-order the record and its exclusive merch on the band's official website.
