Benson Boone said he's "really excited" for Bad Bunny's halftime show at the Super Bowl
"I think he’s extremely talented and has a lot of really, really good music," he told Billboard in a Wednesday, Jan. 28 interview

Benson Boone can't wait to see Bad Bunny take the stage at Super Bowl LX.
In an interview with Billboard on Wednesday, Jan. 28, the "Beautiful Things" hitmaker spoke about how he was "really excited" about seeing Benito as the headliner of the halftime show, regardless of some of the divisiveness he's seen online.
“I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews online of people being excited about it and people not being excited about it,” Boone, 23, told the publication.

But the "Mystical Magical" artist praised the Puerto Rican singer-rapper, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, and said he thinks it's ultimately bound to be a success.
“I think it’s cool to do something that brings in a whole new audience,” said Boone. “So I’m excited to see what he does. I think he’s extremely talented and has a lot of really, really good music.”
In September 2025, Bad Bunny, 31, was announced as a Super Bowl performer and celebrated the news with an X post, writing, "I've been thinking about it these days, and after discussing it with my team, I think I'll do just one date in the United States." He also noted that his set at the big game would be “for my people, my culture, and our history."
However, days later, Trump's Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem threatened that ICE agents would “be all over” Super Bowl LX. Meanwhile, Trump previously said that he had “never heard of” Bad Bunny.
“I don’t know who he is," the president said of the "WHERE SHE GOES" performer while calling into Newsmax’s Greg Kelly Reports last fall. "I don’t know why they’re doing it, it’s crazy, and then they blame it on some promoter that they hired to pick up entertainment. He then called it "absolutely ridiculous."
But in an interview with the New York Post on Saturday, Jan. 24, Trump said he is “anti” Bad Bunny and Green Day, both of whom he deemed “terrible” selections for the 2026 Super Bowl stage.
"I think it’s a terrible choice,” he added of the musicians. “All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.”

Bad Bunny made headlines last year, when he chose not to bring his record-setting Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour to the U.S. due to the Trump administration’s mass deportations and use of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in an ongoing immigration crackdown.
"There were many reasons why I didn’t show up in the U.S., and none of them were out of hate — I’ve performed there many times. All of [the shows] have been successful. All of them have been magnificent," he told i-D of his tour decision last fall.
Bad Bunny added: "But there was the issue of — like, f---ing ICE could be outside [my concert]. And it’s something that we were talking about and very concerned about.”
Super Bowl LX will take place on Sunday, Feb. 8.
