Infiniti tells PEOPLE Briney "was an incredible scene partner" and shares that the two got along very well

She also reveals she previously watched him on The Summer I Turned Pretty, although she hasn't actually finished the series

Chase Infiniti is too busy hanging out with Christopher Briney in real life to watch him on TV!

The 25-year-old actress recently caught up with PEOPLE at the National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala in New York City, where she opened up about getting to work with Briney, 27, on their upcoming film, The Julia Set.

“It was kind of the two of us most days, and I just feel so grateful to have had an insanely talented collaborator,” Infiniti gushes. “He's just such a kind person. What he brought to the role, I'm excited for people to see. I think that he did such a fantastic job.”

“He was an incredible scene partner,” she adds.

She also reveals that she is a fan of Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty, in which he starred as Conrad alongside Gavin Casalegno as his brother Jeremiah and Lola Tung as their childhood best friend Belly as they navigated a complex love triangle throughout the show’s three seasons.

“I'm actually incredibly slow at watching TV,” Infiniti notes, admitting she hasn’t actually finished watching the series. “But I have seen season 1 and half of season 2.”

The Julia Set, which Infiniti shares has wrapped filming, follows her titular character Julia, a talented mathematician who is recruited by a T.A. named Pascal (Briney) to join an elite prep course to compete in the world’s most challenging math competition, the Putnam Exam, per the synopsis.

The drama is also set to feature Gillian Anderson, Jason Isaacs, Nina Hoss, Chloe Bailey, Carmen Ejogo, Nico Hiraga, Liz Lin and Alex Dillard.

This is Briney’s first project since TSITP ended in September 2025.

As for Infiniti, she is coming off the heels of her leading role in Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, where starred opposite Leonardo DiCaprio and Teyana Taylor, along with other major names such as Sean Penn, Regina Hall and Benicio del Toro.

That role followed her on-screen debut in 2024 in the AppleTV+ miniseries Presumed Innocent with Jake Gyllenhaal.

In addition to The Julia Set, Infiniti’s upcoming projects include The Testaments, a sequel to Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale adaptation.
