*The View* cohost Joy Behar has missed her fourth consecutive episode of the long-running talk show, with moderator Whoopi Goldberg providing a light update on the 83-year-old's health at the top of Thursday's live show.

After Behar was again absent from the Hot Topics table, Goldberg addressed Behar's condition partway through the episode.

"I know you see that Joy isn't here today. She'll be back next week," the 70-year-old EGOT-winning actress said when the show returned from its first commercial break.

She continued, "You noticed she wasn't here. You knew we weren't lowering her down from the ceiling. But she'll be back."

On Tuesday, Goldberg told the audience that Behar — who typically has Mondays off — was sick.

"We want to let you know Joy is out, she's not feeling well, so we want her to feel better and get her behind back here," Goldberg said at the time, though she didn't reveal further details.

Behar's current string of absences comes after the comedian missed four episodes of *The View *in November.

When she returned to the Hot Topics table later that month, Behar revealed that another health incident led to her absence, after she and the cohosts did not walk out to set at the top of the episode, but instead began the installment while already seated.

"Now, I've been off for a few days," Behar told the crowd at the time, admitting that it was hard for her to walk.

"I dropped my iPad on my foot and I broke my toe," Behar revealed. "And they put the toes together because it's broken, and it's very, very, very painful. I do not recommend you dropping anything on your toes."

In addition to her long-held post on *The View*, Behar debuted her stage play, *My First Ex-Husband*, in New York City in February 2025.
