With more than 40 Hallmark movies under her belt, Lacey Chabert has had no shortage of onscreen love interests. But when the cameras stop rolling, there’s only one leading man in her life: her husband, David Nehdar.

After dating away from the spotlight, the pair quietly married on December 22, 2013—and they’ve kept their relationship extremely private ever since. In fact, Nehdar has never even appeared on Chabert’s social media feeds. “As everyone points out on Instagram, there’s never been a picture of us together,” Chabert shared on the LadyGang podcast. “He’s incredibly private, he’s not in the business, he doesn’t want to be part of my business, and I respect that.”

“I don’t post pictures of us [on social media],” Chabert continued on LadyGang. “I’ll post pictures with other friends and guy friends, and people are always like, ‘Is that him?’—like it’s some conspiracy. He just wants to stay out of it, and I’m like, 'You know what? Okay.'”

And I think when you do have friendship as a foundation, hopefully that’s something you can always fall back on.”

Yes, their daughter Julia was born on September 1, 2016. Party of Five fans may wonder if Chabert named Julia after her TV sister—Julia Salinger—played by Neve Campbell. Although the former co-stars remain close friends, Campbell was not the inspiration.

“I named Julia after my mom,” she wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of her mother with her then newborn baby. “I treasure this picture of them together.”

In recent years, Julia has come to better understand what her mom does for a living. “The other day she goes, ‘Mom, do other people watch [your] movies?’” Chabert recalled on an April 2023 episode of the podcast You Are Beautiful With Lawrence Zarian. “‘Is that why when we’re places and people come up and want to take your picture—do they watch these movies? It’s not just for us?’ And I was like, ‘No, baby, I don’t just make these movies for you to watch.’”

But Chabert—who started acting professionally at age 7—is not sure about allowing her daughter to enter showbiz as a child. "I don’t know," she told the Ladygang hosts. "The truth is I had a good experience and I was very lucky, but there are parts of it that—it’s just an adult world for a kid. And my parents were super protective—as I would be if she were in it—but I definitely dealt with a lot of things much earlier in my life than I think is natural.”
