What's in a name? If you ask Pete Davidson, there should be some meaningful tribute and a little NSFW inspiration for some spice.

Before the *Saturday Night Live* alum and his girlfriend Elsie Hewitt welcomed their daughter Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson, the pair had narrowed down their choices for a name that solidified when their little one finally made her debut in December. "The second she came out, we were like, 'That's Scottie,'" Davidson told *Elite Daily *in an interview published Tuesday.

Hewitt shared that although they "went through so many different names," the choice of Scottie was an "early favorite" because of its emotional tie to Davidson's family. As previously reported, the name serves as a tribute to the actor's late father, Scott, a New York City firefighter who was killed while responding to the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.

"We always knew that was the one we were going to come back to, because it was the most meaningful. It's also so cute," Hewitt told the outlet.

But that isn't the only inspiration behind Scottie's name; Davidson shared that their daughter was also named after where she was conceived, Scotland.

In March 2025, Hewitt and Davidson traveled to the U.K. to attend the wedding of musician Dave Navarro to Vanessa DuBasso at Dunskey Estate in Stranraer, Scotland. Hewitt posted several photos and videos from the trip on Instagram, which took place days after the couple went Instagram official on March 20.

In a nod to Hewitt, Scottie was given her mom's middle name of Rose.

"My middle name is Rose, and both of my sisters' middle names are also Rose, because my mom's maiden name had Rose in it," Hewitt explained to Elite Daily. "So I wanted to have a little special part of them in her name, too."

Hewitt revealed in July that the pair were expecting their first child together. Davidson, who's been open about wanting to be a father since his dad died when he was just seven, was ecstatic.

"Everybody's just been superexcited for me, because they know it's been my dream," the *King of Staten Island* star told E! News just after the announcement. "I'm very lucky and very, very happy."

The new father is still on cloud nine as he navigates parenthood with Hewitt by his side. "I've always had anxiety about people pleasing and wanting to be the best at everything. But now I'm like, 'If I could do that, that'd be cool. But if not, I get to hang out with [Scottie],'" Davidson told the outlet. "You genuinely don't care as much, if at all, about anything else. Like movies or being in f---ing whatever."****"Seeing Pete do this has been the most special thing," Hewitt added. "I'm re-falling in love all over again. And I think we make a really good team."**
