Jill Martin, the well-known television personality and “Today” show host, is all set to step into her “fabulous” 50s on April 14. To honor her on her upcoming 50th birthday, the NBC contributor’s co-hosts, Craig Melvin, Al Roker, and Laura Jarett gave her an advance birthday surprise on Wednesday, April 8, on the “Today” show. The popular host seemed overwhelmed by the surprise, as she became emotional and broke down in “happy” tears.

Jill Martin got super emotional as her co-hosts, Laura Jarett, Al Roker, and Craig Melvin, threw her a heartfelt birthday surprise on the “Today” show, to celebrate the television personality’s upcoming milestone 50th birthday. The notable NBC contributor and her co-hosts were concluding a particular segment on the show when the surprise took place.
In a clip from the “Today” show, fans could see Jarett saying, “Before we go, we have a little something for you because there’s a milestone birthday.” After that, Roker and Melvin began to sing “Happy birthday” to Martin. The show then brought in delicious-looking cupcakes and champagne for the birthday celebration.

Soon, Jarett said to Martin, “Jill, we love you.” The co-host continued, “We’re so happy for you.” It was indeed a heartwarming moment as the television personality, soon-to-be 50 years old, got visibly emotional. She started to break down in tears. The host then went on to say to her co-hosts, “Thank you. It’s been a hell of a few years.” She continued, “So happy 50 and fabulous.”
She also added, “Love you, guys.” Then, the hosts of the show started sharing affectionate kisses with one another. Meanwhile, Jarett told Martin, “We don’t want to rub off your sparkles,” and Roker replied, “We never rub off your sparkle.”
In the meantime, back in 2023, Martin disclosed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. At that time, the television personality penned, “I have been at the show for 15 years and have shared the happy, the exciting, the sad, and now, the scary.” She continued, “Cancer messed with the wrong family — both my immediate family and, you, my TODAY family.” “We will crush this together,” she added.
