Since All My Children last aired on ABC in 201, fans have continued to hope for the return of Susan Lucci’s iconic character, Erica Kane. Following recent on-air references to Erica on General Hospital, Lucci addressed the possibility of a crossover appearance in a new interview.
While promoting her upcoming memoir, La Lucci, the Daytime Emmy winner Susan Lucci spoke with TV Insider’s Stephanie Sloan about her career and the current daytime landscape, including renewed interest in the genre with CBS’s new soap Beyond the Gates.
During the Interview, Lucci was asked whether she would consider reprising Erica Kane on ABC’s General Hospital. She replied. “I don’t want to say never, but I want to see if this really pans out with Kelly and Mark.”
She was referring to the recently announced project from her former All My Children co-star Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos, who, as previously reported, are developing two All My Childrenmovies for Lifetime.
This is not Ripa’s first attempt to revisit the All My Children universe. She previously developed a primetime reboot project titled Pine Valley with writer and showrunner Leo Richardson. The proposed series was centered on a young journalist who arrives in Pine Valley with a secret agenda and becomes entangled in a long-standing feud between the Kane and Santos families.
Since All My Children ended in 2011, elements of the series have continued to appear across ABC’s daytime lineup. Walt Willey has reprised his role as Jackson Montgomery in multiple guest appearances on General Hospital, and as previously mentioned, Erica Kane has been referenced several times on the series in recent years.

When considering the opportunity to return directly to All My Children, Lucci told TV Insider, “That would be ideal.”
However she did not rule out a future crossover, telling the outlet, “I’m very flattered if the fans want that and if General Hospital is writing that. It’s a very good show, so we’ll see down the road.”
General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC and streams weeknights on Hulu.
La Lucci will be released at all major bookstores on February 3, 2026
