For Memorial Day, Tiger Woods is paying his respects to his father and veteran Earl Woods.
"My father was a Special Forces operator with two tours in Vietnam and 20 years of service," the pro golfer wrote in an Instagram story, commending his father who served as his first coach and mentored him until his death in 2006. "To all those like my father, we all say thank you for your sacrifices. Without them we wouldn't have the greatest country on Earth."
This marks Woods' first social media post since being arrested and charged on March 27 with a DUI after a rollover car crash in Florida and subsequently entering a rehab program in Switzerland. In the accident, Woods reportedly collided with a pressure cleaner truck while driving his Land Rover. Neither Woods or the driver of the other vehicle was injured.
Woods' girlfriend Vanessa Trump, the former model and ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., reshared his post to her Instagram account, as well.

When Woods was arrested in March, the golfer was "lethargic on scene" and did "exemplify signs of impairment" according to Sheriff John Budensiek of the Martin County Sheriff's Office. He took a breathalyzer test that resulted in zero but refused to do a urinalysis test while in jail, according to Budensiek. Woods was charged with two misdemeanors of DUI with property damage and refusal to submit to lawful test.

On April 1, a Florida county judge granted approval for Woods to travel overseas for what his attorney Douglas Duncan said was an "intensive, highly individualized and medically integrated program" that also offered privacy from both media and the public.
