Travel Problems Over The Next Few Days
After a relatively clear weekend in weather, delays are increasingly likely beginning Monday night in the Midwest as a storm system intensifies over the region. Chicago and Milwaukee, in particular, may see some travel woes. The storm's cold front will stretch from the Midwest to the Central Plains by Tuesday night, bringing rain and storms along its path.
The stormy pattern will continue to cause travel concerns through the end of the week for much of the East. Parts of the Northern Plains, Great Lakes and Northeast could even see some snow and wintry mix, so be weather aware if you are flying into or out of those areas mid-to-late week.
The West will continue to see bursts of rain and high elevation snow as a wetter pattern moves into place. The precipitation will start to become more widespread Tuesday evening into Wednesday, creating the potential for travel delays. The region should dry out as we head into Friday, making for widely smooth weekend travel.
If you're heading south in the days ahead, keep in mind that the trees are in full swing. Pollen sufferers will want to account for that in any outdoor plans. You can see how far north the pollen has gotten in maps at the end of this article.
